On November 17, 1989 Haltons
Chambers of Commerce, the Halton District and Halton Catholic District School Boards, Sheridan College, local industry and municipal representation came together to officially form an Industry Education Council in Halton.
When
I started at the Halton Industry Education Council (HIEC), a few years after its founding in 1989, it was a small-but-mighty organization, with a vision for offering
career awareness programs and staffed by a handful of innovative and dedicated people.
In 1989 I was given the honour of being the inaugural Chair of the Halton Industry Education Councils (HIEC) Board of Directors; and I now find myself once again in that same role, reflecting on all that we have accomplished over the past 20 years.
Richard Florida, Author, Whos Your City and Director of the Martin Prosperity Institute, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, will be the keynote speaker at HIECs 20th Anniversary event on Nov. 17, 2009
HAMILTON Being able to better respond to the needs of the business community is the direct result of the establishment
of Mohawk College Enterprise (MCE).
